The Adjudicator will award marks as follows:
Stage presentation - maximum marks 15
The appearance of setting, properties, lighting, costume, make up etc.
Production - maximum marks 35
Interpretation of the meaning and spirit of the play, casting, movement, grouping and general variation in tempo. When, in the opinion of the adjudicator the handling of a large cast creates difficulties, this will be taken into account.
Acting - maximum marks 40
Characterisation, speech, audibility, emphasis, variation in tone and gesture etc.
Enterprise, endeavour and achievement - maximum mark 10
Marks will be awarded for originality in choice of play or production and for attainment of that unity and general effectiveness which makes for high dramatic achievement. In all these matters, adjudication will be on the team rather than the individual.
